2007 Camp News
This past June 17-23, 2007, twenty-six children joined 42 fabulous volunteers for our
third camp and for unforgettable
experiences! The campers arrived on Sunday afternoon and after a Med
Shed evaluation, took a tour of the ranch with their parents. After an
Ice Cream Social, with all involved, parent’s goodbyes were said and our
week of fun began!
The theme of the week was "The Great Outdoors", and what fun outdoors we
had. From archery to horseback riding to our team-building
activities, to the climbing wall, to our new rappelling tower - a lot of magical moments were
created! And since we have such a small group of campers with many
staff members - the atmosphere is quite "magical".
Our camp food was not typical “camp food.” We had two extraordinary
chefs who prepared every meal from scratch! I am talking homemade
noodles made for Chicken Noodle Soup; yeast rolls; beef stroganoff; bbq
chicken, and, of course, hamburgers and hotdogs.
There was a Special Guest Party mid-week during camp to honor our major
donors and sponsors. They were treated to an afternoon of fun at the
ranch with
the campers and then an evening of entertainment at the campfire. The
male counselors and campers serenaded the guest with the unforgettable song – “God Bless My
Underwear”! What a fun event that was and our “Special Guests” enjoyed
their time spent with our campers!
As you can see, we had an active, packed week of “magical moments.” At
every meal, both campers and volunteers alike shared their “Magical
Moments” while holding “Magic Mike.” Water fights; and
the food were big hits of the week.
Our planning committee is hard at work planning our fourth annual camp,
and we hope you will be part of making more “magical moments!”

This June at our Special Guest Dinner, we were proud to announce that we
will be offering Post High School Education Assistance (scholarships) to
our camper alumni!
The camp board recognizes the fact that when a family is faced with a
diagnosis of cancer, that in most cases, a financial strain is placed on
the family. The camp has been blessed with great support from
various individuals and companies, and is happy to offer this financial
assistance to our graduating campers.
